More about the MBSAT Program:

Cultivating Suave Living

“MBSAT is a scholarly and pragmatic guide to self-understanding and realization—through making the right kind of decisions as embodied creatures in a social world. It naturalizes—or perhaps socializes—the free energy principle: an account of self-organization and sentience. If you commit to the epistemic program, not only will you become a fluent practitioner of embodied Bayesian inference and decision-making, but you will also be able to answer Einstein’s existential question: “Is the universe friendly?”

Karl Friston, world-renowned neuroscientist, Scientific Director of the Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging, Professor at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology, University College London, and Honorary Consultant at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

At the heart of the MBSAT program are eight training sessions with evocative and varied practices, exercises, concepts, and other material for reflection including visuals and audio. You will gain practical experience in mindfulness, emotional regulation, skillful decision-making, and more through various exercises and practices.

Part I Sessions 1-4

Cultivating Awareness of BETA

Minding Your Body Sensations, Emotions, Thoughts, and Actions
(BETA): The Foundation of Self-Awareness

The BETA components are the four doors through which we experience life. Cultivating awareness of your BETA will provide you valuable insights into your inner world and fortify your inner balance, creating a robust basis for further learning and reducing harmful Free Energy.

Minding BETA I – Body Sensations

The Body as Source of Interoceptive Signals and Experiences

Here, we tune into our body sensations and learn to observe and better understand our body’s messages. By being attentive to our body sensations we also cultivate physical well-being.

Minding BETA II – Emotions

Emotions as Source of Interoceptive Signals and Experiences

In this session we explore how to identify our emotions without judgment and develop healthy coping and balancing mechanisms.

Minding BETA III – Thoughts

Thoughts as Exteroceptive Signals Influenced by Interoceptive States

Focusing on our thoughts we gain awareness of our internal dialogue and develop the ability to observe and deconstruct unhelpful thought patterns.

Minding BETA IV – Action Impulses

Actions as Source of Proprioceptive Signals and Experiences

We explore the urges behind your actions and cultivate the space for conscious choice.

Part II Sessions 5-7

Cultivating awareness of META

Understanding Your Belief Systems: The Compass Guiding Your Choices

The META components will assist you in exploring your existing belief systems and how they shape your perception, behavior and decision-making. By identifying limiting beliefs, you can pave the way for positive transformations.

Minding META I

Minding Adversity (Irimi)

This session offers practices, tools and models to deal constructively with adversities we encounter on our life path. We learn the art of generating Mindful Real Options, when we feel stressed and hopeless.

Minding META II

Minding Beliefs About Money

Here, we learn to recognize unconscious attitudes towards money and where they come from. We practice creating an inner environment of mindfulness and self-awareness that is conducive to letting go of any unhealthy grip that money can have on our lives. Fulfillment beyond material possessions becomes an option.

Minding META III

Minding our Social Experience – SoE and Friendliness

We develop a framework of appreciation for cultural diversity and a sense of respect that goes beyond mere tolerance. We cultivate genuine connection and friendliness in a multicultural, hectic and often anonymous world.
